FREE PICTURE, OVER 200 footballers contested the Scottish Unity Football League Cup in a celebration of diversity in Scotland as part of Refugee Festival Scotland. Twenty teams featuring players from Scotland and abroad took part in the jamboree at the Toryglen Football Centre in Glasgow. The tournament, organised by Glasgow Afghan United, aims to promote integration between local communities and people from a refugee background. Sabir Zazai, Chief Exec of Scottish Refugee Council said: "We're used to thinking of football as something that divides people, so it's great to see it used as a force to bring people together. The teams today are made up of players from Scotland, Afghanistan, Cameroon, Sudan, Ivory Coast, Iran, Eritrea and many more, all playing alongside each other. This is what Refugee Festival Scotland is all about." The festival runs until 24 June, with events taking place across the country. Films, football, food and drink, discussions and theatre productions are among the key events in the programme.
